Kazuo Ishiguro/THE UNCONSOLED

I'm really, really trying hard to get through this. I'm on page 150 and I've honestly just about given up, which is something I almost never do. Anyone have an opinion to see me through (or not)?

I've enjoyed all the other Ishiguro novels I've read, most particularly The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go, but I found The Unconsoled extraordinarily tedious. I've met people who loved the book, but the tone and the approach remain pretty consistent from beginning to end, and I would say that if you're not appreciating it yet, there's little chance that it will grow on you.
