Robert Rankin/The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse

Absoloutely hysterical. Perhaps better (perhaps) than my favorite satirical author, Christopher Moore. But I'm not making that call yet.
Little Miss Muffet, Little Boy Blue, Humpty Dumpty, Mother Goose - all the fairy tales and toys are alive and there's a serial killer on the loose.
I made the mistake of reading this one on a plane, and I think I scared everyone around me because I kept laughing out loud.

once in english class she read a faulkner short story in about 8 minutes. the teacher got really angry, took away her copy, and made her take a quiz on it. she got 100%.

Hey, thanks for visiting my blog and commenting. I like your blog but don't have access to too many books in Afghanistan...

I do read fairly quickly, although moonrat exaggerates a bit. In this case, I read the book a while ago and loved it, so I thought I'd pass it along.

And I think that Faulkner took at least 10 minutes - although I have no recollection of this event actually happening. I think it may be a figure of Moonrat's imagination.

Nope. It was called A ROSE FOR MISS EMILY and it was about an old Southern lady whose suitor had left her. Ringing any bells?

Fine. I take the prize for long-term retention. Humph. (Are you calling me retentive...?)

HA! I do remember! (The story. Not the story that you're telling, though.)

Freak.
